Completed doctoral thesis on parametric hull modelling and hull form optimization. To date, many yacht’s hull designs have been built with various sizes. Dr Özüm also offers significant hands-on experience, having worked on site as build engineer across both new builds and refit projects.

Completed his education in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and started his career by working in commercial ship design. He then specialized in yacht design, gaining extensive knowledge and experience in yacht construction engineering, structural outfitting solutions, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Throughout this process, he developed innovative and functional engineering solutions for custom yacht projects, demonstrating expertise in optimizing designs through advanced FEA techniques.

Specialized in onboard piping system design and calculations as well as technical areas design. Developed a range of experience across several large yacht projects. Proficient in using CAD software to streamline 3D modeling processes, enabling faster turnaround times and providing prompt, efficient support to shipyards.

Experienced Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the yacht-building industry. Skilled in negotiation, budgeting, business planning, and operations management combined with field experience, and analytical skills. Professional with a bachelorbachelor’s degree focused in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Yıldız Technical University (Turkey) and Maritime Training Academy (England).
